ISSN: 3139-4965
Nagore Puranam is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, originality, and transparency. As a journal dedicated to Tamil language, literature, history, culture, linguistics, and related fields of study, the journal recognises the importance of ethical conduct in scholarly communication and the responsible dissemination of knowledge.
Integrity and Originality
All participants in the publication process are expected to uphold honesty, fairness, accountability, confidentiality, and respect for intellectual property. Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly or literary work, acknowledge the contributions of others, and provide appropriate references for sources used. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and other forms of publication misconduct are not acceptable.
Fairness and Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions should be made fairly, objectively, and in accordance with the scholarly merit, relevance, quality, and integrity of submitted work. Decisions must not be improperly influenced by personal relationships, institutional affiliations, commercial interests, or external pressure. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed and appropriately addressed.
Confidentiality and Accountability
Information obtained during the submission and editorial process must be handled responsibly. Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts and related communications, act professionally, and take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their contributions.
Handling Ethical Concerns
Concerns relating to publication ethics will be considered seriously. Where credible concerns arise, the journal may request clarification, examine the available evidence, and take appropriate action. Depending on the circumstances, such action may include manuscript rejection, correction of published content, withdrawal of acceptance, or retraction where warranted.
Commitment to Responsible Scholarship
Nagore Puranam seeks to promote responsible scholarship, protect intellectual integrity, and preserve the credibility of research and literary studies relating to Tamil. Authors, editors, reviewers, and publishing personnel share responsibility for upholding these ethical principles throughout the publication process.
