Who We Are

Nagore Puranam | International Journal for Tamil Studies

Nagore Puranam is an independent digital publication established in 2023 under Nagore Puranam Publication. The publication focuses on Tamil language, literature, history, culture, and research, bringing together contributions from researchers, scholars, educators, emerging writers, and experienced authors.

01 Our Publishing

Our publishing activities encompass journal articles, literary contributions, research studies, and other works relating to Tamil studies. We aim to provide suitable opportunities for valuable content to reach readers through digital publishing and future book projects.

Alongside individual contributions, we intend to develop edited volumes and curated research collections that bring related studies together in a lasting and accessible format.

02 Publishing Support

Where applicable, article-related publication or processing charges contribute towards the operational and developmental expenses of our publishing activities. These may include editorial coordination, content preparation, digital publication, and other project-related costs.

Subject to available resources and project requirements, funds generated through publishing activities may also support the preparation, editing, design, production, and distribution of future books and research collections.

03 Empowering Young Writers

We seek to encourage young and emerging writers by helping them find opportunities to share their ideas, develop their writing, and reach a wider readership. We recognise the importance of providing new contributors with access to publishing opportunities.

Where feasible, eligible writers may be considered for affordable, shared-cost, or free-of-cost publishing arrangements, depending on the work and the resources available.

04 Supporting Senior Writers

Senior and established writers often hold years of valuable literary, historical, cultural, and research content. Their accumulated writings, manuscripts, unpublished studies, and creative works can make an important contribution to Tamil knowledge and literary heritage.

We seek to help these authors explore suitable opportunities to publish and preserve their work through digital publications, books, and curated collections. Where possible, shared-cost support or free-of-cost publishing may be considered for eligible projects.

05 Books & Research Collections

We aim to develop books and thematic research collections that bring together relevant articles, scholarly studies, and literary contributions. These projects may help preserve valuable work, connect related research, and extend its reach beyond individual online publications.

All proposed collections remain subject to editorial selection, author permissions, project feasibility, and the requirements of the intended publication.

06 Affordable Publishing

Recognising that writers have different financial circumstances, we seek to offer flexible publishing opportunities where resources permit. Depending on the work, project budget, and agreed terms, these may include:

  • Free-of-cost publication for selected eligible contributions.
  • Shared-cost arrangements in which Nagore Puranam covers part of the eligible publishing expenses.
  • Affordable publishing arrangements appropriate to the scope of a project.
  • Consideration for inclusion in future books and research collections.

Any applicable charges and support arrangements should be communicated before publication. Payment does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

07 Our Commitment

We value emerging voices, the experience of established authors, and the contributions of researchers working across Tamil studies. Through our publishing activities, we seek to help valuable content reach readers, preserve important written work, and create opportunities for future literary and research publications.
